Jack Shephard

Age: 37
From: LA, California

As the leader of the castaways, Jack has had to overcome a lot of his past. As a child he was told by his father, Christian, that he was never going to be good enough to do anything besides being a doctor. Jack listened and he did follow in his father's footsteps. He became of one LA's top young spinal surgens and that was how he met his first wife Sarah, who he miraculously healed after she was paralyzed in a car accident. However, their marriage ended when it was discovered that Sarah was cheating on him. Jack then became obsessed and started to follow Sarah arround, to find out who she was cheating with. He contested the divorce, and got Sarah's cell phone log. Then, Jack called the numbers and found his father's number. When asked, Christian said it meant nothing. Jack didn't believe him, and follwed Christian to a hotel, which ended up being an AA meeting. However, Jack was still convinced Sarah was with him, and tackled his father. After being arrested, Sarah bailed him out. Sarah then admitted to Jack that she was not cheating with his father. Sarah was helping Christian become sober. However, after this, Christian started drinking again, while Jack and Sarah's divorce was final. To escape all the drama, Jack left for Thailand and lived there. He formed a relationship with Achara, a tattoo artist who had a gift for seeing people as they really are. However, their relationship was forbidden and they had to keep a secret. When Jack forced Achara to put a Chinese tattoo on him that says "Though he walks among us, he is not one of us." But it also meant that he is a great leader, going against what Christian always told him. But the tattoos were seen by Arachra's brother and Jack was beaten and forced to leave Thailand. Then more trouble started back home with Christian when Jack found him operating while drunk on a patient who was pregnant. The patient died and Christian tried to get Jack to lie. However, Jack turned in his father, which led Christian to a druken trip to Australia. Unknown to Jack, Christian went to find CLAIRE, his DAUGHTER! Claire is his daughter from an affair with Carol Littleton. Jack has has no idea that he has a sister and that it IS Claire. Jack's mother Margo made him go find Christian, saying that it was his fault. However, he found his father had died of a heart attack. That's when Jack boreded Oceanic Flight 815. Now on the island, Jack must overcome his doubts, his father's death, learn to love again, possibly with Kate, to learn to accept his and Locke's differences, deal with "the Others", learn Claire is his sister, and become the leader he was destined to be. After rescue, Jack is one of the Oceanic 6. Jack found out about Claire being his sister at their father's funeral from Claire's mother. He and Kate became enagaged, but ended their relationship when his drinking became to strenous. Now, he's convinced they need to go back to the Island, and is leading the group back.

Katherine Anne "Kate" Austen

Kate is one of the most mysterious woman of the castaways. At first everyone thought she was the good girl next door type, but that was before they found out she was a fugitive. Kate grew up in small town Iowa with her mom Diane and dad Army Srgt. Sam Austen. They were a very Christian family with Kate studying a lot in Sunday School. When she was 5 years old her parents got a divorce and soon after Diane married Wayne, an abusive alcholic. Kate lived with her mom while Sam was stationed in other bases and Iraq during Persian Gulf. As a teenager she was a straight A student and had a childhood sweetheart in Tom Brennan. When Kate was 24, and after years of abuse, she discoverd that Sam was not her bilogical father. It turned out that Wayne was. Kate decided that action had to be taken against Wayne for hurting her and her mother, so she killed him and made it look like a gas leak. When Diane found out what Kate had done, she turned her daughter in. As US Marshal Edward Mars was arresting her, Kate was able to escape and started her life on the run. A while later, Kate came back to see Diane. At that time she met up with CASSIDY, Sawyer's ex. After telling her story to Cassidy, she decided to help Kate. The 2 of them formed a close friendship and Cassidy was able to have Kate meet her mother. When Kate saw Diane, she asked why she turned her in. Diane replied that she killed someone, and it wasn't her place to take vengance. Diane told her that you can't help who you love, and she will always love Wayne. Kate excepted this, and Diane didn't turn her in. But she said that next time she saw Kate, she would. When Kate left, she thanked Cassidy for helping her. Cassidy understood completly and told Kate that she was pregnant, but she still loved Sawyer after what he did to her. Kate then suggested that Cassidy turn him into the cops for taking her money. Cassidy agreed, and Kate is the reason Sawyer went to jail. While on the run, Kate met and fell in love with a Miami, Flordia police offere named Kevin. She was going under the name of Monica at that time. The two became engaged and did marry. Their lives were normal for awhile and Kate tried to get Mars to stop chasing her. He agreed, but Kate stopped making contact. A pregnancy scare forced Kate to come clean to Kevin. Kevin still loved her and wanted to help, but Kate said she coudln't stay with him and live a normal life. She drugged him and left him. When Kate's mom got sick with cancer, she risked being caught again to vist her. Diane was so scared of Kate for what she did and someone spotted her. Kate left and accidently got her childhood friend Tom killed. Later, Kate robbed a bank to get a toy plane Tom had in his possesions. Kate was soon caught by Mars again in Australia and got on Flight 815. Now on the island, Kate has chance for a fresh start, to be redeemed for what she has done, and become a good person again. After rescue, she is part of the Oceanic 6 and was engaged to Jack. She's taken on the role as Aaron's adoptive mother and was parolled for all her criminal charges. She is also fulling a promise for Sawyer, which might be looking after his daughter Clementine. Still very much in love with Jack, she's torn over being a mother to Aaron, or going back and fixing things on the Island.

James "Sawyer" Ford

Sawyer is the bad boy among the castaways, but growing up he was a differnt person. When he was 8 years old his parents were conned out of a lot of money by a man named "Sawyer". Unknown at the time, the real Sawyer was LOCKE'S FATHER Anthony Cooper. This lead to James' father killing his wife and them himself, all while James was hiding under his bed. James was then placed in the care of his uncle and aunt in Tennessee, until his uncle died of a brain tumor. Years later, James changed his name to Sawyer and vowed to get revenge on the man that took his parents. Sawyer himself became a con artist and was really good at it. He even pulled what is called a "long con" on his girlfriend Cassidy, who he loved and taught to be a con artist. After this, Cassidy put Sawyer in jail in Flordia. He was there for 9 months. While in prison, Cassidy came back and showed Sawyer a picture of their DAUGHTER Clementime. Sawyer didn't believe her at first. Then Sawyer befriened a man in jail named Munson. He helped him to rob a bank, but Sawyer was really working for the warden. When they caught Munson, Sawyer was released and given some of the $10 million. However, he didn't want it and gave it to Clementime. Then one day, his partner Hibbs came up with a lead on a man named Frank, who the real "Sawyer" might be. Sawyer tracked him down to Australia to confront him. He showed him the note he had writen as a little boy, but Frank said he never knew anyone by that name. Sawyer killed him, but later found out that Frank was not Sawyer, but someone Hibbs wanted dead. Sawyer then got arrested for head butting an Australian Parliment offical and was deported on Flight 815. Now on the island, Sawyer can either change his ways or still be the con artist he's used to being. He is still stuck on the island, after the botched rescue.

Claire Littleton

Played by: Emilie de Ravin

From: Sydney, Australia

Claire has a lot of challenges that she has to face. Growing up in Australia, Claire had a rocky relationship with her mother Carol Littleton. She is the daughter of an affair between Carol and CHRISTIAN SHEPHARD (Jack's FATHER)! Christian was a part of Claire's life as a little girl. He would come to Australia to spend time with her, but ended up leaving Claire behind so Jack and Margo wouldn't find out. Claire grew up thinking her father had died. However, when she was 17, Claire and Carol were in a car accident and Carol was in a coma. Her aunt Linsdey then took care of her, but they found out someone else was playing for Carol's bills. Claire then met Christian at the hospital and he told her that he was her father! Claire was shocked and Christian explained why he had to leave. Christian also wanted Claire to take Carol off of life support, but Claire wouldn't kill her mom even if that was what she wanted. Claire told Christian to go back to his real family and she never wanted to see him again. Years later, when Claire started to see Thomas, a painter, Lindsey got upset and disowned her. Claire then moved in with Thomas and got a job at a local fish resturant. A while later, Claire found out that she was pregnant. This fact scared her, being so young, but Thomas said that he would stick by her side. A couple days later Claire went with her friend Shasa to a physic named Richard Malkin. Malkin started her reading, but stoped when he saw something really bad. He made Claire and Sasha leave and gave them back their money. A couple of months later, Thomas told Claire that he couldn't handle being a father so young and left her. Claire was really hurt by this and decided to see Malkin again. He finally did the reading and told her that no one could raise her baby except for her! Also, he told her that her goodness needed to be a key factor in his raising. Claire was freaked out and told Malkin told her this and decided to give the baby up for adoption. However, when she went to the agency and was getting read to sign the papers, none of the pens worked and Claire finally decided to keep her baby. Later, Malkin met with Claire and told her to meet a couple in LA and gave her a ticket for Flight 815. He said that she had to go on this flight. He knew that it was going to crash, but didn't tell Claire. Now, on the island, Claire must learn how to raise her son Aaron, how to become a good mother, find her faith again, and learn that Jack is her brother. Claire mysteriously dissapeard, last seen with her father Christian on Island. Aaron is being raised by Kate and Jack in LA.

John Locke

Played by: Terry O'Quinn
Age: 58
From: Tustin, California

Locke is one of the most mysterious castaways. Locke grew up in many foster homes as a child and had a sister, Jenny, that died as a little girl. As an adult, a women started to seek him out and it turned out to be Locke's biological mother Emily. Locke tried to ask her about his father but she told him that he didn't have one. He went to the adoption agency and asked for access to his record. He found out that Emily was always in and out of the mental hospital and that his father, Anthony Cooper was a rich man. Locke then went to meet Anthony and formed a bond with his birth father. The two of them grew closer and Anthony taught Locke how to hunt. Later on, Locke discovered that Anthony needed a kidney transplant and his kidney was a perfect match. After the operation, Locke then found out that Anthony was conning him. This made Locke angry and he never forgave his father for that. Years later, in anger managment class, Locke met Helen and they started dating. Helen was finally able to get Locke to stop being angry at his father. A few years later, Locke and Helen were living together and he decided it was time to propose marrige. However, Helen saw in the paper that Anthony died. They went to the funeral to get closure, but someone was watching them. Locke worked as a home inspector for Widmore Homes, and helped Nadia with her house. He realised someone was watching him and went up to the car. It was Anthony and he faked his death to get his con money. He had Locke help him, and the 2 men after him started to go after Locke. When Locke got the money, he met Anthony at a motel. However, Helen followed him, and broke up with Locke for lying to her. Anthony left soon after that. After this, Locke went to live in a hippie campground with Mike and Jan. They all welcomed Locke into the family, and were Christians. However, they were also growing marijuana. One day, Locke picked up a hitchhiker named Eddie. Eddie came to live with the hippies, but wanted to know what was in the greenhouse. Locke went to Mike and Jan, but found them packing up. Eddie was an undercover cop! Mike and Jan told Locke to take care of it and kill Eddie. So one day while hunting, Locke tried to kill Eddie but couldn't do it. He found out he was picked by the police to get Mike and Jan. However, we don't know what happened afterwards. In 2000, Locke had to go on disibality leave for his anger issues. While he was home and young man named Peter Talbot was investigating his future stepdad, which ended up being Anthony. Locke went to question his father about it, but Anthony said he had changed and wanted to get married. However, the police asked Locke questions about what was going on when Peter was MURDERED! Locke figured Anthony did it, and went to confront him. Anthony told him it was a lie, but Locke didn't believe him. Anthony got angry and PUSHED LOCKE OUT OF A WINDOW 8 STORIES UP! Somehow Locke surived and that's how he ended up in his wheelchair. Even though he was in a wheelchair, Locke went to Australia and tried to participate in a "Walkabout" or hunt. He was told he couldn't do it because of his condition and they forced him to board Flight 815. Then after the plane crash, a miricle happened. Locke was able to walk again and he has this huge faith in the island and that the island is controling the castaways. Now on the island, Locke is the hunter of the group, keeps fighting with Jack over who is right, find out what he truly belives in, and was the first to come face to face with the monster. He is now the leader of "the Others" and the remaning Losties on the island. But in 2007, he somehow got off was trying to convice the Oceanic 6 to return to the Island. He is presumed dead, but needs to go back as well.

Sayid Jarrah

Played by: Naveen Andrews
Age: 36
From: Iraq

Sayid is a very helpful member of the castaways. Growing up in Iraq was a very diffent experiece than most and Sayid has changed a lot. He was originally a college student in Egypt and when Sayid was 22, he joined Iraq's Republican Guard as a communications officer. During the Pursian Gulf War in 1991, Sayid was captured by American soliders, one of them being Kate's father Sam. Sayid was taken to Inman, a U.S. officer who was trying to get an Iraqi, who was Sayid's commandng officer, to tell where a missing pilot was. They wanted Sayid, since he could speak English to translate for him. Sayid agreed, but when the man wouldn't give up the information, Inman gave Sayid a box and told him to get the answers by whatever means necessary. Sayid tortured the man, and told the Inman that the pilot was killed. After the war ended, the U.S. troops let Sayid go. When the Iraqis heard what Sayid had done, they made him a torturer. Years later, Sayid was interigating a woman, who ended up being his childhood love Nadia. Sayid wouldn't hurt her and Nadia was able to get Sayid to let her go and to stop hurting people. It wasn't in his nature. Sayid realised this and somehow left Iraq. Sayid then went to Paris, France and worked at a resturant under then new name Negev. He was then interviewed to work at another resturant owned by Sami, a former Iraqi. However, Sami only wanted to caputre Sayid, since he was responisable for torturing Sami's wife Amira. Sami tried to get Sayid to confess, but he wouldn't. However, Amira finally did and was able to forgive Sayid for what he did. Sayid was then let go. While he was in England, he was picked up by the CIA and was used to stop a terriost bombing in Australia. During the process, one of his childhood friends commited suicide and Sayid boared Fight 815 to get his body to America and to find Nadia, who was living in LA. Now one the island, Sayid has the chance to be who he originally was, as well as help out with differnt tasks, a become an important member of the group. AFter rescue, Sayid is one of the Oceanic 6 and an assasian for Ben. He is hunting down Charles Widmore.

Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

Played by: Jorge Garcia
Age: mid 20's
From: LA, California

Hurley is the comic relief among the castaways. Growing up in a large Catholic family, Hurley was always made fun of because of his weight. But is wasn't that way before. Hugo was once a physically fit child who loved to hang out with his dad David. But David would leave for Las Vegas for 17 years. One day at a party, Hurley went onto a deck that was only supposed to hold 8 people. He made the 23rd and the deck collapsed! Two people died and Hurley felt responsible. He went into a catonic state and his mother, Carmen, put him into a mental hospital. While there, he made a friend named Dave. Dave helped Hurley to be more open and not care what other people think. He even helped Hurley get to know Lennord. However, Dr. Brooks showed him a picture he took of Hurley and Dave, and Dave wasn't there. Dave was a figment of Hurley's mind. Hurley realised this and had a breakthrough. After he was released, he made some friends like Johnny and Starla, but was always outcasted. One day while working at Mr. Clucks chicken restruant, Hurley bought a lottery ticket and used these numbers, 4 8 15 16 23 42, that he heard from Lenoard in the psych ward. Hurley ended up winning the lottery, but that's when all this bad stuff started hapening to him. Hurley's grandpa passed away, Carmen broke her ankle, his brother Diego's wife left him for another woman, the Chicken Shack got hit by a meator, and Hurley lost all his friends for keeping the lottery win a secret. Hurley then went back to the mental hospital and met with Lenorad who told him he heard the numbers with his Navy buddy Sam Toony in the Pacific on a radio transmission. Sam was now dead, but Hurley decided to go to Australia to meet with his wife. However, before Hurley could go, David came back into his life. Carmen belived it was a miricale and wanted their marrige to work out. Still, Hurley didn't belive his father really wanted to be there. David actually tried to make amends, but Hurley still left for Australia. While there, he met Sam's wife and she told him that the numbers weren't cursed, but he didn't believe her. That's when Hurley boared Flight 815. Now, on the island Hurley has been able to make a lot of friends and make jokes, but he still worries that the numbers, which is the code for the computer in the hatch are still cursed and brought them all to the island. After rescue, Hurley is a member of the Oceanic 6 and was being held back in Santa Rosa until Sayid broke him out.

Jin-Soo Kwon

Played by: Daniel Dae Kim
Age: 30
From: South Korea

Jin has become one of the castways most loyal friends. As a poor fisherman's son in South Korea, Jin never thought he would become anything more than that. He was told his mother died during child birth. He also served in the Korean Army after school. Jin started working as a door man for a hotel chain, but he was still harassed for being from the lower class. One day, when he let a poor little boy in the hotel to use the bathroom, Jin was forced to choose his job or his people. Jin then decided to quit, and that's when he ran in Sun, and fell in love with her at first site. Sun was from a wealthy family, and Jin wanted to get married. When the time came to ask her father, the only way he would let Jin marry her was if he worked for the family business. Jin accepted, only because he loved Sun and wanted to be with her. After they were married, Jin was forced to work as a hit man for Sun's father. Jin was never a violent person and having to hurt people was hard on him. A year after they were married, Jin and Sun tried to have a baby. Jin hoped that a baby would let Sun's father change his job status. However, when they went to a fertility doctor, he said that Sun couldn't have children. This caused Jin to get even more angrier. Mr. Paik soon wanted Jin to kill Jae Lee. He finally called Jin "son" and said Jin had to do this to honor their family. Jin agreed, but he couldn't kill Jae. He just beat him up and told Jae to leave to America. But, as Jin was leaving, Jae commited sucidie. Jin's work worried Sun a lot, but when a trip to Australia for Sun's father came about, Jin decided to take it and take Sun and move to America to escape her father. When they were at the airport, Jin realised that they were being followed. However, Jin was able to get tickets for Flight 815. Now on the island, Jin finally has the chance to be with his wife without the threat of her father, form friendships with the other castaways, and learn English. Jin presumebly died after the frieghter that was supposed to rescue them blew up. However, there is still a chance he is still alive and on the Island.

Sun Paik-Kwon

Played by: Yunjin Kim
Age: early 30's
From: South Korea

Sun is one of the castaways helpful women. She was raised by wealthy parents, but she never knew until she was an adult that her father was a mafia boss. Sun used to also lie a lot, like when she broke a glass ballerina and blamed it on the maid so she wouldn't get in trouble. Sun was well educated though college and her mother was always butting in on her life. When Sun was in her 20's she started seeing a wealthy hotel owner named Jae. Sun really liked him and their parents wanted them to get married, but she found out that Jae was secretly engaged to an American woman and was going to leave Korea for America. This upset Sun badly and she ran out. As she was leaving, she bumped into Jin and fell in love. Sun and Jin were very much in love and wanted to get married but her father wouldn't allow it. Unkown to Sun, Jin had asked her father and he had agreed, however Jin didn't tell her what he had to do. After they got married a women came and asked Sun for money so she would rat out about Jin's parents. Jin's stories about them weren't adding up, so Sun investigated it. She met Jin's father, but never told Jin that she did. Mr. Kwon told her that Jin's mother was a prostitue and that he had no idea if Jin was really his, but did raise him as his own. Sun asked her father for the money to give the older women, and he did, but made Jin work for his mafia. Sun gave the money to the women, who ended up being Jin's MOTHER! Over the next few months, Sun noticed that Jin had started to get more angrier and violent, and would sometimes come home bloody. She finally figured out what her father did. When Jin and her tried to have a baby, they went to a fertility doctor and her told they that Sun couldn't have children. However, Dr. Kim told Sun later that Jin really was the one who was infertile. He wouldn't tell them because her father would kill him. Then, Sun got really worried and with the help of a friend, Sun took English lessons in secret. These lessons were given to her by Jae and the two stayed close. Sun eventually had an affair with Jae, and her father caught the two of them together. Then Jae commited sucide since Sun couldn't be with him. Finally when Sun and Jin were in Australia, Sun was going to leave Jin and make it look like she was kidnapped. However, Sun had a change of heart and decided that it was her father that did this to Jin and that he would change. That's when they borded Flight 815. Now on the island, Sun is learning to trust Jin again and they have finally reconnected, can speak to all the castaways in English, knows somewhat about medicene and aroma therapy which has proven very useful when helping Jack out with patients, and became pregnant. After rescue, as a member of the Oceanic 6, she gave birth to a daughter named Ji Yeon. Sun still believes that Jin died.

Walt Llyod-Dawson

Played by: Malcolm David Kelly
Age: 10
From: travled and lived in many differnt countries

Walt is very special and is the youngest of the castaways. Traveling was always a part of Walt's life, with his mother Susan and his step-father Brian's carrers. Never knowing his father, he just thought his dad left. Walt then formed a bond with Vincent, Brian's dog, and Brian gave Vincent to him. Brian started to notice something was strange about Walt. When ever he wanted things to happen, they did, especially if he was mad. One day Walt was looking through a bird book, when a bird crashed into the house trying to make it's way to Walt. This scared Brian even more. Then when Susan died, Brian didn't want Walt to live with him anymore and Walt was reunited with Michael. At first Walt didn't trust him, but later decided to go with him and they got on Flight 815. On the island, Walt finally was able to grow closer to his father, have Vincent to take care of and play with, form a friendship with Locke and learn more about hunting from him, he possibly was the one who made the polar bears come after the castaways after seeing them in a comic book, and was kidnapped by "the Others" because he is special. However, "the Others" said that Walt was too much to handle and could appear in other places. They later gave him back to Michael and both left on a boat headed for home. Walt was last seen in New York staying with his grandmother. However, he kept appearing in visions to Locke. Now 13, Walt is living in New York with his grandmother. He still is refered to as special and just might have to go back to the island since he was visted by Locke.

Rose Henderson-Nadler and Bernard Nadler

Played by: L. Scott Caldwell and Sam Anderson
Age: early 50's and 57
From: Bronx, New York

Rose and Bernard are the surogate grandparents of the castaways. The two first about a year before the plane crash in New York. Rose's car was stuck in the snow and Bernard helped to get it out. They found a connection between them and decided to go out on a date. 5 months later, on a trip to Niagria Falls, Bernard proposed. Rose was suprisied, but told him that she couldn't. She had cancer and was dying. Bernard was stunned, but told her that he would love her no matter what. After convincing, Rose accepted. This was the first marriage for both. Months later, Rose thought they were on their honeymoon in Australia, but Bernard really took her their to a healer named Isaac. Rose told him that their was no hope, but agreed to meet this man. Isaac tried to heal her, but he couldn't. He told Rose that she had to go to a new energy place to be healed. Rose then had Isaac pretend that he healed her so Bernard would be happy. Then, when they were waiting to get on Flight 815, Rose dropped her medication and Locke picked it up in his wheelchair! She was the only one who knew about his condition. Now on the island, Rose and Bernard have been reunited, she has been healed of her cancer, and with Rose's strong faith have to survive the island. They are still left behind on the Island.

Desmond David Hume

Played by Henry Ian Cuswick
Age: mid 30's
From: Scotland

Desmond is the person with the most knowledge about the hatches and some of the islands mysteries. Desmond was a devote Catholic and was engaged to be married to Ruth, whom he had dated for 6 years. However, he got really drunk one night and saw a monk help him. That's when Desmond believed his calling was to be a monk. He left Ruth 1 week before their wedding and joined the Abby in Scotland. But problems still arrised from it. Ruth's brother Derek punched him, and Ruth told Desmond that he was nothing but a coward. After getting really drunk on the Abby's wine, the head monk fired Desmond telling him that God had another plan. Days later he was loading crates into a woman's car, and that was the first time he met Penelope. This made his faith grow stong again. Desmond lived in England with Penelope Widmore and they were planning on getting married. He tried for a job at Widmore Industires, but Charles, Penny's dad, told Desmond that he would never been good enough for her. Desmond didn't want to accept that fact, so he tried to stay with Penny. However, a time travel trip after the hatch imploded forced him to leave Penny so he could eventually get onto the Island. Desmond broke up with Penny and ended up inlisting in the British Army. He was in jail in England for not fallowing orders in the British Army. He carried a Charles Dickens’s book and that picture of him and Penelope with him and as he was leaving he was met by someone in a limo. It was Charles WIDMORE! He showed Desmond a box of letters that he sent to Penelope, Charles' daughter. Charles said that he didn't want Desmond seeing his daughter, so he hid them. He then told Desmond that he was going to leave and go to America. Desmond was forced to agree, and Charles gave him money. In LA, he met LIBBY at a coffee shop. They talked and Desmond told her that he was going to race around the world in Widmore's race, to get Penelope back. Libby let him use her boat. For about a year, Desmond trained and that night where he met Jack at the football stadium, Penelope showed up. He asked her why she was getting married, and she asked why he never wrote her. He told her that he still loved her, but she just left, but said that if you have all the money, you can find someone easily. After his motivational talk with Jack, Desmond left on the boat. However, he hit a storm and he was thrown off the boat! When he woke up he was on the island and someone in a hazmat suit came and got him! It was Kelvin Inman! SAYID's trainer in Persian Gulf! He showed Desmond all about the hatch and taught him how to use it and about the injection. Desmond asked how he got there and Kelvin said he left the Army after they listened to him too much and he joined Dharma. Kelvin's old partner killed himself. Then he showed Desmond another underground passage way. It led to a failsafe! It turned off the ELECTROMAGNETIC FORE! It was turned off with a key. Kelvin also referred to "the Others" as HOSTILES! For 3 years, Desmond helped Kelvin out. Then one day he decided to follow Kelvin outside to the island. When he did, he saw Kelvin take off his hazmat suit and walk to another part of the beach. That's when Desmond saw his boat! Kelvin then asked what Desmond wanted and he asked what Kelvin was doing with his boat. Kelvin said that he was fixing it up so he could leave the island! Desmond got angry and they started to fight! However, Desmond accidentally killed Kelvin! He then took the key and rushed back to the hatch. The timer started to go off and the computer said SYSTEM FAILURE! The hieroglyphics came up and everything in the room started to spin! Desmond finally was able to type the numbers in and it stopped. And the date was September 22, 2004! A couple of weeks later, Desmond thought about killing himself, when he found his Charles Dickens book and a letter from Penelope was in there! He was supposed to read it while he was in jail! She told him that he would always love him! Then Desmond heard someone crying and banging on the hatch door. He beamed the fog light up and saw Locke! This then made Desmond relived that he could go home. A couple of days later, he found Kate and Locke in the hatch. He thought Locke was with Dharma, but he wasn’t. He then made him tie Kate up and that’s when Jack came into the hatch. Recognizing each other, Desmond realized that they all were from a plane crash. Desmond later left the hatch and went to leave the island on his boat. However, he mysteriously couldn’t get off and rejoined Jack’s camp. Desmond later after being convinced by Locke, and tried to help not type the numbers in. However, he realized that he was wrong and he crashed the plane! After Locke broke the computer, Desmond got the key and turned the failsafe on! Now, after the Hatch imploded, Desmond time traveled and now has the ablity to predict future events. After rescue, Desmond finally reunited with Penny. The two decided to go undercover since Ben has put a hit out on Penny.

Benjamin "Henry Gale" Linus

Ben is the leader of "the Others". However, he wasn't born on the island as he once claimed. He was born 2 months early in Portland, Oregon. However, his mother Emily died in childbirth, which caused Ben's father, Roger, to blame him. A few years later, Ben moved to the island since Roger got a job with the Dharma Inative. However, The Hostiles or Natives kept attacking them. Ben also had a childhood sweetheart named Annie. One night, Ben saw his MOTHER out in the jungle and decided to follow her. He tried to cross the sonic fence, but his mother told him it was his time. Ben got the code to deactive the fence and instead met RICHARD, who hasn't aged and still works for him. Ben wanted to go with Richard, but he told Ben that he had to wait. Years later, Ben killed his father while The Natives killed all of the Dharma people in The Purge. Ben became second in command, behind the mysterious Jacob. He was also able to still make Dharma think everything was working ok and nothing had happened. That's how "the Others" were born. Ben has brought most of the researches to the island for various projects and trying to help his people. However, Ben has been doing evil things to the castaways, all the while saying they are the "Good Guys". Ben and his group were responsible for kidnapping Alex, Danielle's daughter, which Ben has raised as his own child. He also had Ethan and Goodwin infiltrate the castaways camps when their plane crashed. "The Others" have caputered Claire, Walt, Michael, Emma, Zack, Cindy, Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and multiple other people for unknown tests. However, blood is taken from each one of the captives. There is a strong possiblity that Ben was romantically involved with Juliet. Ben is very good with mindgames and has tricked the castaways many times. Espically when he pretended to be Henry Gale, a man who crashed on the island in a baloon. After being redeemed and help the castaways fight against Charles Widmore, Ben was exiled off the Island and teleported to 2005. Now, he's hunting down Penelope Widmore and has hired Sayid as his hitman. Ben is helping the Oceanic 6 find their way back to the Island.

Juliet Burke

Juliet is a member of "the Others". She is also a fertility doctor. However, she has only been on the island since September 11th, 2001. Juliet was originaly from Miami and was married to a fertility researcher Edmund Burke. However, they divorced but still worked together. Juliet's sister Rachel became sick with cancer, but Rachel really wanted to have a child. So, Juliet used the drugs they were researching and did get Rachel pregnant. However, a science research group called "Mittelos Bioscience" wanted to recruit Juliet for her work. But, Juliet was very afraid of Edmund and believed she couldn't go. However, Edmund got hit by a bus and died. And she eventually was convinced by ETHAN to go with them to the group. But, this group was really "the Others". She now lives in a house on the island, as well as the rest of "the Others". Amelia, who seems to be her mother like figure, also lives on the island too. Juliet was brought to the island in a submarine along with Ethan. Her purpose for being there is to help "the Others" pregnant women have children. All of them die before giving bith. Their bodies treat the babies as an invader and it ends of killing the baby and themselves. Juliet had a hard time with all the women dying and tried to let Ben get her home. When Oceanic Flight 815 crashed, Ben let Juliet see Rachel and her son Julian on the TV monitors! He told Juliet that Jacob had cured Rachel's cancer. However, she still had more work to do, but when she was done, she could go home. Juliet is also helping to lead the experiments on Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. She is spending most of her time with Jack. They also have a book on all of Jack's life and possibly every other castaway's too. But after helping Jack, her true involment with "the Others" is questionable. Now, she is double crossing Jack and the beach campers pretending to be one of them, when it is all part of Ben's unknown plan, but she might just be one of the good ones after all and seems to be helping Jack's group. After becoming a major part of the castways' group, Juliet was left on the Island after a botched rescue.

Boone Carlyle

Boone was one of the castaways most helpful people. He liked to be involved and would help anyone who needed it. Growing up, Boone was rich kid whose mother Sabrina was in charge of a wedding company. Boone grew up without a father until he was 10 and Sabrina married Adam Rutherford. Adam's daughter Shannon, who was 8 at the time also moved in. Boone and Shannon grew closer as they grew up together, and it esclated to Boone falling in love with her when they were teenagers. When Adam died, Boone was in college, and decided to move back home to help run his mother's company. He also helped Shannon deal with her father's death, but when Sabrina wouldn't give Shannon her inheritance money, Shannon left for Paris with the man she worked for as a nanny. Boone later could not get over Shannon being gone, so he would track her down and pay her boyfriends a lot of money to leave her so she could come back to him. Boone later heard from Shannon in Australia and she told him that her latest boyfriend, Brian, was abusing her. Boone went to pay him off, but Shannon conned him because she needed money and figured out what he was doing. Later that night, Shannon came to Boone in his hotel room and said that she was sorry and knew that he was in love with her. The two of them had an affiar, but decided to try to make things back to normal. The next day the got on Flight 815. On the island, Boone was finally able to get over Shannon and come to terms with her relationship with Sayid. Boone also formed many friendsships with the castaways and looked up to Jack as an older brother and Locke as a father. Boone and Locke were the first to discover the hatch and when they found the Nigerian drug plane, Boone climbed and found the herion and made contact with the tail section surrivors. However, the plane fell out of the cliff and crahed down. Boone was injured badly and Jack tried everything he could to save him, but Boone told Jack to let him go. Boone died at the same time Claire's son Aaron was born. The funeral for Boone was very emotional, and Jack and Shannon blamed Locke for Boone's death.

Shannon Rutherford

Shannon was always in disbelif about the crash and thought that rescue would come. As a child, her mother was gone and her father Adam raised her. When she was 8, Adam married Sabrina and she gained Boone as a step-brother. Shannon originally was a very nice and caring girl, until her father died in a car accident, with Jack's former wife Sarah, when she was 18. Shannon was overcome with greif at being abandoned by her parents and when Adam's will was read, Sabrina wouldn't let any of Shannon's inheritance money be passed on. Shannon was shocked and ran off to Paris with a man she was a nanny for. They eventually married, but the marrige fell apart when unkown to her, Boone payed off her husband to leave her. Shannon traveled more across the country and fianlly figured out that Boone was in love with her and was making all her boyfriends leave. That's when she decided to con him and get some of her inheritance money. Shannon made it look like her Australian boyfriend was abusing her and that she needed Boone. Boone came and fell for it. Shannon then left Brian and went to Boone in his hotel room. She told him that she knew he was in love with her and they slept together. Afterwards, Shannon wanted things to go back to normal between them and they got on Flight 815. On the island, Shannon was in shock over the crash. She fought with Boone a lot and would even sun bathe while the rest of the castaways were working to set up camp. She believed that they would get rescued, but it never happened. Shannon then formed friendships with Kate and Claire and started to help out with different things. She was the only one who spoke french and translated Danielle's distress message as well as her maps, which brought her and Sayid closer together. Sayid and Shannon started a relationship on the island and fell in love with each other. However, Shannon did tell Sayid that she still had feelings for Boone and a part of her will always have them. When Boone died, Shannon was devestated and realised how much she cared for him. She took her anger out on Locke, because she felt he was responsible, and tried to shot him. She missed, but she never forgave him. Shannon and Sayid grew closer, but after the group left on the raft, she started seeing Walt appear all wet and tell her messages she could't understand. She was also talking care of Vincent for Walt at the time. Sayid didn't believe her at first, but he too eventually saw Walt. Shaonnon ran after Walt, but she was shot when Ana thought she was one of "the others". She died in Sayid arms. Shannon's death has caused tension between Jack's group and Ana's group and they couldn't trust each other at first. Everyone was shocked by Shannon's death ad it still is effectng Sayid.

Ana-Lucia Cortez

Ana was one of the toughfest castaways. She was a cop in LA and her mother, Teresa, was the police cheif. One day while Ana and her partner were staking out an apartment, a man walked up to her. He said that he was a student, named Jason, and she trusted him. Next thing she knew, he shot her 4 times. Ana was pregnant at the time and lost her baby. After that her boyfriend Danny left her and she decied to go back to the force. Her mother didn't want her to come back so soon, but Ana wanted to. What Ana really wanted was to get revenge on Jason for killing her baby. One night, after she found him in a bar, Ana followed him and killed him. Jason's body was found and Teresa told Ana that she knew that she killed him. Ana decided to turn in her badge and gun and quit. She later became a security guard at the airport. One day at a bar, Ana met Jack's father Christian Shepherd! Not knowing who he was, Christian told her what happened with him and Jack. He told her that he needed to go to Australia to finish something and needed protection. Ana agreed to go and they went by the names Tom and Sarah. In Australia, Ana helped Christian find what he was looking for. They went to a house in the suburbs of Sydney and he talked to Lindsey. She was a 40ish blond Australian woman, and was later revealed as Claire's aunt! Christian told her that he needed to see his DAUGHTER (Claire), but Lindsey wouldn't allow it. Christian said that he had every right and that he was paying their mortage. They were arguing loudly and Ana had to break them up. As they were leaving, Ana asked what that was all about, but Christian wouldn't explain. She left him at the bar, where they ran into Sawyer. Later at the airport, Ana heard Jack yelling at the Oceanic worker to get on the plane and that his father died. This made Ana call Teresa and appolgise for leaving and that she would turn her self in. Then Ana talked with Jack at the airport bar about his father. She was in the tail section of the plane when it crashed and became the leader of her group, since the were seperated from Jack's. Ana also accidently killed Shannon, who she thought was an "other", and became somewhat of an outsider from the original group. On the island Ana learned to trust again and was eventually accepted. She fored a friendship with Jack, Locke, and Sayid and started a relationship with Sawyer. However, Michael was forced to kill her by "the Others"!

Elizabeth "Libby"

Played by: Cynthia Watros
Age: early 30's
From: Newport Beach, California

Libby is the least known castaway. She says that she is a psychologist and has a little doctors training, however that is not the case. Libby did meet Desmond in LA, and she lent him her boat. It actually belong to her husband David, who had passed away. The boat was named Elizabeth after her. This could be why she was in the same mental hospital as Hurley, but we still don't know. Before she got on the plane, Libby did meet Eko. She was in the tail section of the pane when it crashed along with Ana and Eko. While on the island, Libby helped out with Claire trying to remember what happened to her when she was kidnapped by Ethan, as well as forming a relationship with Hurley. However, she died after witnessing Michael kill Ana! But before she died, her last words were "Michael!!!" and she had a horrfied look on her face. More about Libby's past will be revealed as the show goes on.

Mr. Eko Tundi

Played by: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

From: Nigeria

Eko is the priest of the castaways. As a child in Nigeria, Eko and his brother Yemi were raised him the Catholic church and they were both very religious. However, that all changed when the drug lords came and tried to kidnap Eko's brother. Eko stopped them and said to take him instead. The drug lords said they would if Eko killed the priest. He did, even though he didn't want to, and saved his brother and left with the drug lords. Years later, Eko became a drug lord himself and would kill for the drug money and supplies. One day a shipment of herion came in and Eko and his buddies needed to find a way to smuggle it out. Eko then went to his brother, who was now a priest, to make him and his follwers priests so they could use the churches plane to get the drugs out. His brother didn't want to do this at first because Eko didn't follow in the ways of God anymore, but he eventually did it when Eko threated to burn down the church. As they were loading the herion onto the plane, Eko's brother and the military tried to stop them. Eko's men got on the plane and his brother was shot. They loaded his brother on the plane but one of Eko's friends pushed him back and made him stay. They ended up saying Eko's life, since the plane crashed on the same island Eko would soon crash on years later. When he went back to his village, Eko took over Yemi's church. However, the drug lords threated him into giving them medicene. When Eko wouldn't they tried to kill him, so Eko killed the drug lords to save the people. However, the villagers became afraid of him and closed the church since it was defiled. After that, Eko decided to devote his life back to God and became a true priest with his studies in England. Somehow, Eko ended up working as a priest in Australia. Eko was also trying to get to the United States. For the Church, he investigated a case of a teen girl who had died drowning but came to life a day later. Eko didn't believe this story at first, but did his job. He met with the girl, Charlotte, parents and her father was Richard, Claire's physic. Richard said that Charlotte only had hypothermia and didn't die. He didn't was Eko to leak the story since he was a fraud physic. However, as Eko was getting ready to get on Flight 815, Charlotte tracked him down. She told him that while she was dead, she met Eko's brother Yemi. He said that he was proud of Eko and wanted him to know that. Eko also met Libby at the airport too. On the island, Eko finally came to terms with his brother's death, became more involved with God, he took a 40 day vow of silence after killing some of "the others" as well as carving scriptures on his staff, helped the other castaways with preaching in the ways of God, was the second person to have seen the monster face to face, he built a church on the island for Yemi, and he died from the monster when it tricked him by pretending to be Yemi.

Nikki Fernandez

Age: mid 20's
From: LA, California

Nikki was a surivor of Oceanic Flight 815. Before she came to the island, Nikki was a struggeling actress apearing on the show "Expose", which started Billy Dee Wiliams. At the time she was also dating the creator, Howard Zukerman. However, she was really conning Howard, and with the help of her boyfriend Paulo, they killed him and stole $8 million dollars worth of diamonds! Nikki and Paulo boared Flight 815 to go back home. After the crash, Nikki tried to fit in and befriended Shannon and Boone. She also spent time with Dr. Arzt and learned about some of his bugs that he was studing. During their time on the island, she kept searching for the diamonds. But never knew that Paulo had found them and was hiding them from her. When she found out she was angry and used a Medusa Spider on him to make him paralized. Paulo told her it was to save their relationship and Nikki finally understood. However, the spider bit her as well. Nikki tried to tell Sawyer and Hurley that they were paralized, but they mistakenly thought they were dead. Nikki and Paulo died together, being burried alive.

Paulo

Paulo was a surivor of Oceanic Flight 815. He was chef before coming to the island. However, he was working with his girlfriend Nikki to steal $8 Million dollars worth of diamonds. After the crash, Paulo found the diamonds in the waterfalls and hid them in the Pearl Station, before anyone else found the hatch. While he was down there, he overheard Ben and Juliet plan their capture of Jack, Kate, and Sawyer for Ben's surgery. Paulo never told anyone about it. After they left, Paulo put the bag in the toilet. However, when Locke, Sayid, Desmond, and Nikki, went down there, Paulo retrived the diamonds so they wouldn't be found. After Nikki found out and had a poisionus spider bit him, Paulo told Nikki he was getting rid of the diamonds so they would have a better life. He loved her and didn't want this coming between them. He watched the spider bite Nikki as well. But before they could wake up, the castaways mistakenly thought they were dead. Paulo and Nikki died together, being burried alive.

Charlie Pace

Charlie had to face a lot of his inner demons before becoming a hero. As a boy, Charlie grew up in a strong Catholic family with his mom Meghan, his butcher father Simon, and his older brother Liam. They were poor and Charlie was looked to be the one who would save the family. Megan would tell him that he was special and Charlie did have a lot of musical talent. Years later, Charlie and Liam formed the band DriveShaft with two of their friends. However, they never expected their single "You All Everybody" to reach the top of the charts. Charlie and Liam started to enjoy the life of the famous and Liam started a drug habbit to herion. Charlie for years tried to help him quit, so Liam could reunite with his wife Karen and their infant daughter Meghan, who was named after their mom. Liam was finally able to quit using the drugs and left DriveShaft to live with Karen and Meghan in Australia. However, this made Charlie feel like he was abandoned, and he then turned to using herion. Charlie lost his faith too, and he caused many bad things like stealing items from his ex-girlfriend Lucy and her father. Charlie then went to Australia to see Liam and try to get DriveShaft back together, but Liam wanted to be a full time father and he wanted Charlie to stay with them so he could quit using the drugs, but it made Charlie even more mad and he got on Flight 815. On the island, Charlie was finally been able to quit the drugs, making a fresh start. It was a hard journey with tempation there, but he overcame it. His faith came back from learning with Locke, Eko, and Desmond and the trials he had to go through. Charlie fell in love with Claire, and helped her raise her son Aaron. Aaron actually became Charlie's son. He even killed Ethan, for kidnapping Claire and hanging him. Charlie had a close bond with Hurley, his best friend, as well as Jack and Kate, the 2 people who believed in him from the begining. He helped out everyone and was a great friend. When Desmond had his visions, Charlie was scared to believe that he would die, but eventually excepted it. Charlie did drown in The Looking Glass hatch, but did so as a hero, since he was able to contact Penny Widmore and tell her about the crash and Desmond.

Alex and Danielle Rousseau

Danielle has been a mysterious character since the first season. She was a scientist back in France and her team shipwrecked on the island in 1988. She was 7 months pregnant at the time with her daughter Alexandra, and was traveling with her husband George. After giving birth to Alex, "the Others" came and stole her baby. Danielle had to kill the rest of her team and George because they had a sickness. She was left alone for 16 years, slowly going crazy, until Sayid found her. Danielle has been helping the castaways to reunite with Alex. Meanwhile, Alex was raised by Ben as his daughter, but she always knew something was off. Alex knew that her real parents were out there somewhere. She keeps rebelling against Ben and formed a relationship with another teenager named Karl. Alex has also helped out Claire, Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Michael, knowing that what her "father" is doing is wrong. Mother and daughter finally reunited when Jack and Ben's groups met before Jack making contact with rescue. Both, as well as Karl, were later killed by Charles Widmore's workers as they came after Ben.

Michael Dawson

Michael is the builder among the castaways. In the eairly 1990's, Michael and his girlfriend Susan were living together when she found out she was pregnant. Micahel was a painter at the time and he and Susan decided to raise their son. Walt was born and life was good for awhile, until Susan didn't like not being wealthy. She started to have an affiar with her boss Brian, but Michael was unaware of it. Later Susan broke up with Michael to move with Brian to Europe and they were going to take Walt with them. Michael didn't want Susan to take Walt away from him, and they started a custody battle. However, Michael saw that Susan would provide Walt a better life with more opportunities. Michael saw Walt one more time before they left and gave him a stuffed polar bear. Over the years Michael sent Walt birthday cards and cartoon he drew, but he later found out that Susan never gave them to him. Years later, Michael was now an architect and he was contacted by Brian. Susan had died from a blood disorder and Brian didn't want to have custody of Walt anymore, so he gave Michael is rights back and he flew to Australia to get Walt and his dog Vincent. Walt didn't even know who he was, but he left with him and they, as well as Vincent, borded Flight 815. On the island, Michael had the chance to reconnect with his son again and raise him, he helped out the castaways with different tasks like the raft. However, he worked with "the Others" to get Walt back. He killed Ana and Libby and turned in Jack, Kate, and Sawyer to "the Others". He had left on a tug boat with Walt towards home. Working as Ben's spy on the freighter run by Charles Widmore, Michael was able to fianlly redeem himself and get the Oceanic 6 rescused. However, he's left Walt fatherless.
